Yes, scleral buckles is one of the ways to fix the detached retina. Many ways to fix the retina. If it's early stage, you, we call that prophylactic treatment. That is can be done by the cryotherapy, can be done by the laser.
強膜バックリング術は網膜剥離の治療法の一つです。網膜を治療する方法は多くあります。初期であれば、予防的治療と呼ばれる凍結療法やレーザーでの治療を行います。
You basically just seal off the hole but if the retina is already detached, you really have to physically put things together. The way to do this, you put a silicon band around the eyeball. That's called a scleral buckle. It's really just like a buc, but, you know, it is a buckle basically for the lack of a better description. You sustain the retina in the good position.
