Good evening, everybody! It's a thrill for me to be on this call with all of you. I'm going to talk about heart issues, specifically applying children with Marfan, Loeys-Dietz and vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. I think many of the topics we're going to talk about today will apply to other connective tissue conditions as well. So if you are yet without a diagnosis, some of this information hopefully will be helpful to you.

So in terms of the outline for my presentation today, first I'll just give a brief introduction to the main syndromes that we're talking about today, give some basic information about cardiovascular anatomy, just put everybody on the same page, talk about some common cardiovascular findings in these connective tissue disorders, move on to imaging techniques, echo, MRI, and CT scans and hopefully decipher any questions that you might have about your z-scores as a means of following your aortic root size, talk a lot about medical therapy, a little bit about surgical therapy, and then spend some time talking about physical activity and exercise for people growing up with connective tissue conditions, at the end I'll talk briefly about an FDA warning recently about fluoroquinolones, which is an antibiotic, and then hopefully leave enough questions and enough time for your questions and my answers to them.
