My goal is to focus mainly on the lower extremity and also on some important details surrounding quality of life, which affects both men and women in different phases of life and also in different aspects of life, so I'll do my best to cover them as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
皆さん、こんばんは。私からは、主に下肢およびQOLに関する重要事項についてお話させていただきます。QOLの問題は、人生の様々な場面において男女問わず関係してきます。手短かつ効率的にお伝えできるよう、できる限り努力したいと思います。
So again, the reason that this is so important not only from the foot and ankle standpoint but from the full quality of life standpoint is our patients with Marfan syndrome are living longer than ever. With the advantages in the the basic science community and, and the advances, excuse me, made in cardiovascular surgery, we're able to live longer and as such these problems that used to never be brought to fruition are now real life issues.
足や足首の観点からだけではなく、全体的な人生の質という視点から考えた場合にQOLの問題が非常に重要となる理由は、マルファン症候群の患者さんが以前にもまして長く生きられるようになったからです。基礎医学の発展や心血管手術の進歩により我々は長寿となりました。しかしそれ故に、これまで経験することのなかった問題が現実のものとなっています。
So people are living longer and they're putting more wear and tear on their bodies and their tissues, which are normally not able to withstand the the long term activities, and as such we need to come up with better solutions to, to solve pain and other aspects that affect quality of life.
長く生きることで、身体や組織には、ほころびが生じるようになりますが、通常、マルファン症候群の方の身体は長期的な活動に耐えることはできません。そのため、QOLを脅かす痛みなどの問題に対し、よりよい解決策を見つけ出さねばなりません。
So that's that's one main reason why this is so important.
