We did talk about the PEARS up to here a little bit. Before Helene did put in the chat box a link to a big presentation that we had last year during our summit, that was given by Dr. Duke Cameron and Tal Golesworthy, who I believe is the creator of that procedure. Do you want to say something about the PEARS surgery more than what you said before?

Yeah, I don't think it's ready for prime time. You know, it has to be studied and the problem with it is that it has to be studied for a really long time because it's being applied to people with sort of dilated but not really dilated aortas. You know, we'll see with time what happens.

There's like one report of a patient who died after the procedure not from the aortic problem but something else and the team that wrote about it was excited to see that the under the microscope some of that aortic tissue looked like the integrity of it was still maintained, the architecture was maintained but I, you know, I'll tell you from my lab the architecture in the aorta is variable depending on where you take the biopsy from, so there's a lot to learn about it.

My concern also is that it's a pretty big operation so you're opening the chest, you're dissecting everything out including the coronary arteries to put this wrap in place and yet we don't really know for sure if it's a kind of a definitive repair.

There's a couple patients that are like 10, 12, 15 years out or something like that and their aorta hasn't grown because it's kind of scarred in with this mesh and that's promising.

But time will tell. Maybe it'll be like something that, you know, when time proves that it works. We can even find new ways to do it where we use a robot to deliver it through the ribs or something like that, that all sounds great.

I'm wondering if maybe we, you know, whatever we learn from how that mesh interacts with the aorta maybe we can even do it endovascularly like the way we deliver stents and we do something like that I think there's a, there's a lot to learn yet.
