What is your take on personalized external aortic root support or PEARS?

I think the PEARS is, a still, is still hard surgery done, so it still requires opening the chest. This is kind of like a sleeve that's put around the aorta.

It's currently, I think only available in England, I'm not sure if it's available throughout Europe or not. It's not available in the United States, so we don't have it available through out FDA to perform that procedure here, but it's been done and, and I'm not sure what the numbers are yet, it may be between 50 and 100 individuals, and they've had very good success. I think there was one death related to that.

Where the aorta is, sort of a personalized graft that fits the individual's aorta is sewn, placed around the aorta all the way from the coronary arteries up to the ascending aorta and kind of encases the aorta in this mesh. And so for the individuals who've had that done, there has not been any aortic dissection or a requirement for a valve replacement.
