We also found that some people with Marfan syndrome will have slippage of the spine or spondylolisthesis. This is common in general population but a person with Marfan syndrome who has the slippage is more likely to keep getting worse and to go forward, so this can be treated usually with a posterior fusion only going in just kind of controlling those two levels that are slipping forward.

Throughout the spine in Marfan syndrome, there are many bony changes that characterize a condition and these are that the structures are all very thin and so pedicle, the linkage between the front and the back of the spine is called pedicle, this is very skinny in Marfan patients and the back of spine called the lamina is very thin.
