Any thoughts on neuropathy in Loeys-Dietz syndrome and/or, you know, how they impact pain management?

Yeah, so I would be the first to admit that we have a lot to learn about the causes of pain in people with connective tissue disorders. Sometimes the cause of pain is obvious such as an orthopedic concern but I would freely state that there are people that I care for and care about that have pain that I can't explain and that, you know, we, we could do better treating if we did have an explanation.

There are in reflecting on the people we care for with Loeys-Dietz syndrome, there are some people that have what appears to be a peripheral neuropathy, pain in, for example, their feet that is poorly explained and not explained based upon vascular considerations but again it's not high and I, I, I don't even think I have the evidence to state that people with Loeys-Dietz syndrome are at higher risk for neuropathy than people without Loeys-Dietz syndrome, so I've seen it but I'm not sure it's actually part of the condition.
私が担当するLDS患者さんの中には末梢神経障害、例えば、足の痛みを訴える方がおられます。こうした痛みは、血管的な見地からの説明がほぼできないのです。とはいえ、神経障害の割合は高くはなく、LDSの患者さんではそうでない方々よりもリスクが高くなるというエビデンスは存在しないと思われます。回答としては、たしかにLDSでの神経障害は目にするけれども、LDSの所見といえるかどうかはわからない、ということになります。
