I guess for Dr. Sponseller to start with. How successful is back surgery, insertion of rods and screws for adult Marfan patients 60 and over? How would you do it on somebody that age and, and what do and who would you do that on and have successful is it?

Um, that's a great question. Again no cookie-cutter answer but it can be done if there's a real need, find surgery and adults is a bit more difficult to recover from than it is in teenagers and there are more potential pitfalls but it can be done if you're having excruciating pain that's not responding to any other way or if the posture is continuing to deteriorate and causing you to have trouble standing up straight, so it can be done. It can also be done if there's a severe kyphosis, if there is a there's slippage of the spine with nerve compression issues.
