One important point if you take anything from this presentation is, this is probably the most important point. A lot of times the scans are done without gating. What do I mean by that? So think of it when you're in a CT scanner. You can move. That can affect the heart motion. You can breathe while they're scanning. That can affect the heart motion.

And heart rhythm is very important. If your image is not synchronized with the heart rhythm you can get an image that looks on the left side. You can see there is a line here that should not be there. On the same patient when scanned with gating you can see that line is gone.
心拍は非常に重要です。左側が、心拍（心電図）と同期されていない状態で撮影されたCT検査画像です。マウスポインターの箇所に線が見えると思いますが、この線は本来あってはならないものです。それに対し、同じ患者さんに心電図を同期して撮影されたものが右側です。左側の画像にあった線が消えています。
So always ask if your aorta is being imaged, especially thoracic, not, not the abdominal aorta, if all you're getting is imaging for the thoracic aorta make sure you're getting a chest higher portion of the aorta but it's a gated image because that's a very reliable image that you can measure every time you get a scan and it prevents artifacts and as a patient the best thing you can do is cooperate in terms of not moving when a scan is acquired and not breathing, holding your breath that really helps especially with the chest portion of the aorta imaging.
