What dental orthodontic features are common in Marfan syndrome?
The most striking facial features are having a long, narrow face that is probably more convex than the average face; we call that dolichocephalic. The other features include having a narrow high-arched palate, oftentimes accompanied with crowding, so in other words, the teeth just don't fit properly. The other features that we see in the face such as the corners of the eyes kind of slant downward; we call that downward slanting palpebral fissures and sometimes you may see a flattened cheekbone area and other things that may or may not occur in everyone, but the constellation of these features often can be observed and give or take one or the other feature that's what defines Marfan.
